Pada acara pers Juli tahun lalu, Microsoft memperkenalkan detil seputar Office generasi berikutnya. Yang mengejutkan, saat itu, nama ‘Office 2013’ tidak begitu terkenal. Sebaliknya, Microsoft lebih suka (sampai saat ini) menyebut Office baru tersebut dengan nama ‘new Office’, ‘next Office’, atau ‘modern Office’. Hal ini tentu saja sedikit membingungkan. Jadi, apa itu Office 365 dan apa perbedaannya dengan Office 2013? Berapa banyak versinya, dan berapa harganya? Mengingat saat ini Office 2013 dan paket langganan Office 365 telah tersedia untuk umum, kami memperbarui FAQ Office untuk menjawab pertanyaan yang kerap muncul dan banyak lagi. Semoga saja setelah membaca ini, Anda tidak akan bingung lagi.

1. Apa perbedaan antara Office 365 dan Office 2013?

Pertama kali diluncurkan pada 2010 untuk menyasar para pebisnis, Office 365 ‘lama’ terdiri dari produk Microsoft Server versi online yang diseperti SharePoint Online, Exchange Online dan Lync Online. Ini adalah layanan langganan dengan program bulanan berbeda berdasarkan ukuran bisnisnya (yaitu jumlah kebutuhan lisensi) dan jumlah fitur yang dipilih. Selain layanan berbasis cloud, Office 365 juga termasuk langganan aplikasi desktop.
Di sisi lain, bayangkan Office 20XX Anda sebagai suite Office versi desktop tradisional yang diinstal pada PC. Anda tidak perlu membayar biaya berlangganan. Cukup bayar sekali dan lisensi akan menjadi milik Anda selamanya. Serupa dengan rilis sebelumnya, aplikasi di suite Office 2013 terbaru memiliki desain nama berdasarkan tahunnya seperti Word 2013, Excel 2013, PowerPoint 2013, Outlook 2013 dan lain-lain.
Perubahan besar kali ini yaitu Microsoft berharap banyak pengguna yang akan memakai melalui sistem langganan Office 365, bukannya membeli versi Office dalam kemasan kardus. Di samping berbagai macam versi kemasan Office 2013, raksasa layanan dan software yang berbasis di Redmond itu juga merancang empat program langganan Office 365 baru seperti Office 365 Home Premium senilai Rp. 729.999 per tahun yang menyasar pengguna rumahan. Program ini memungkinkan Office digunakan di hingga lima PC atau Mac (dengan kombinasi apa pun) dan lima perangkat mobile untuk semua pengguna dalam satu rumah.
Dengan kata lain, Anda bisa memperoleh aplikasi dekstop Office 2013 dengan dua cara: berlangganan program Office 365 atau membeli kemasan boks Office 2013. Namun ada beberapa keuntungan jika Anda menggunakan Office 365, kami akan menjelaskannya lebih lanjut.
Tiga versi lainnya dari Office 365 saat ini yaitu Office 365 Small Business Premium, Office 365 ProPlus, dan Office 365 Enterprise yang ditujukan untuk pengguna bisnis.

 

2. Apa keuntungan menggunakan Office 365 Home Premium?

Office 365 Home Premium memungkinkan Anda menggunakan Office hingga lima komputer (gabungan PC dan Mac) dan lima perangkat mobile dalam satu rumah. Hal yang menyenangkan adalah Anda dapat mengganti lima perangkat tersebut kapan saja. Untuk pengguna PC, Anda mendapatkan semua aplikasi Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Outlook, Access dan Publisher. Begitu pula dengan pengguna Mac mendapatkan aplikasi yang sama kecuali OneNote, Access dan Publisher.
Versi terbaru Office 365 juga terhubung dengan cloud. Baik itu hanya berlangganan atau membeli edisi lisensi permanen, melalui akun Microsoft, Anda bisa menikmati kenyamanan menyimpan dan berbagi dokumen secara online. Selain ruang penyimpanan 7 GB yang Anda dapatkan saat membuat akun Microsoft, Office 365 Home Premium juga akan memberikan Anda (pelanggan) tambahan 20 GB ruang penyimpanan di SkyDrive. SkyDrive adalah layanan cloud Microsoft untuk menyimpan apa saja, dari dokumen dan konten multimedia hingga template dan preferensi sistem Anda. Sayangnya, Anda tidak dapat membagi 20 GB ini kepada anggota keluarga lain. Selain itu, Anda juga memiliki waktu bicara Skype 60 menit setiap bulan yang dapat digunakan di lebih dari 40 negara dan ponsel di tujuh negara.
Fitur menarik lainnya yang hanya didapatkan oleh pengguna Office 365 yaitu Office on Demand. Perlu menggunakan Excel di PC Windows 7 atau Windows 8 teman Anda tapi aplikasi tersebut belum terinstal? Anda dapat menjalankan aplikasi tersebut dengan sistem streaming. Tentu saja, ini bukan berarti aplikasi Office tersebut akan menjadi milik teman Anda. Aplikasi tersebut akan langsung terhapus ketika Anda menutup aplikasi.
Patut dicatat juga bahwa dengan Office 365, aplikasi Office Anda akan selalu otomatis diperbarui dengan fitur dan layanan terbaru. Hal ini berbeda jika dibandingkan update pemeliharaan pada versi lisensi permanen yang hanya sekali bayar.

3. Bagaimana jika saya menjalankan UKM dengan 10 pegawai?

Perusahaan dengan satu hingga sepuluh pegawai dapat menggunakan Office 365 Small Business Premium. Di samping semua aplikasi di Office 365 Home Premium, Office 365 Small Business Premium juga mencakup Microsoft Lync, software pesan instan korporat. Setiap pengguna dapat menginstal Office untuk hingga lima PC atau Mac.
Office 365 Small Business Premium juga hadir dengan mailbox Outlook 25 GB, kalender bersama, pengelola kontak, tool jadwal dan daftar tugas, drive cloud 10 GB plus tambahan 500 MB untuk setiap pengguna serta mewadahi rapat online dan bahkan situs
Perhatikan bahwa Office 365 Home Premium tidak ditujukan untuk penggunaan komersil.

4. Bagaimana jika saya menggunakan perangkat Mac atau iOS?

Program langganan Office 365 akan memberikan aplikasi Office yang sesuai dengan perangkat Anda. Namun, karena masih belum tersedianya Office for Mac terbaru. Karenanya, jika berlangganan Office 365 sekarang, yang Anda dapatkan adalah Office for Mac 2011. Office tersebut sudah dijual selama beberapa tahun sebagai edisi lisensi permanen (saat ini versi ini masih bisa dibelil). Sayangnya, di samping tidak adanya OneNote, Publisher dan Access untuk Mac, banyak teknologi baru seperti Click-to-Run dan Office on Demand juga tidak tersedia untuk Office for Mac.
Bagi pengguna Office for Mac 2011, update versi 14.3.0 terbaru kini telah tersedia. Selain bug fix untuk Outlook dan PowerPoint, update ini juga menambahkan dukungan untuk Office 365.
Meski versi terbaru Office for Mac masih dalam pembuatan, versi tersebut tidak akan dipasarkan dalam waktu dekat. Perkiraan kami setidaknya membutuhkan 18 bulan. Tidak Semua orang juga menduga akan ada Office for iOS. Tapi saat nanti software itu tersedia, mereka yang berlangganan Office 365 akan bisa melakukan upgrade. Inilah yang dimaksud Microsoft dengan ‘selalu baru’.
Agaknya, aplikasi OneNote for iOS dan perangkat Android akan segera diperbarui.

5. Saya seorang pelajar. Adakah program langganan Office 365 untuk saya?

Untuk pelajar, fakultas, atau staf perguruan tinggi (seperti universitas), ada program berlangganan bernama Office 365 University. Program langganan 4 tahun dengan harga Rp. 639.999 atau sekitar 13 ribu rupiah per bulan. Jika Anda seorang pelajar, ada proses verifikasi untuk menentukan kelayakannya. Di luar perbedaanya jumlah instalasi yang diperbolehkan (dua PC atau Mac), Office 365 Universtity menawarkan manfaat yang sama dengan Office 365 Home Premium (dapat digunakan di perangkat mobile, Skype, tambahan penyimpanan SkyDrive20 GB, Office on Demand, upgrade versi) tapi dengan harga yang jauh lebih murah.
Sayangnya, Anda tidak akan menjadi pelajar selamanya.

6. Berapa harga Office 2013 dan Office 365?

Jika Anda ingin menginstal Office Home & Student 2013 di tiga PC, Anda harus membeli tiga kopi Office dengan harga masing-masing 180 dolar AS.
Mari kita lakukan perhitungan dari sudut pandang lain. Umpamanya, Anda berlangganan Office 365 Home Premium untuk lima tahun dengan harga 650 dolar AS (130 dolar AS x 5). Anda masih dapat berhemat jika dibandingkan membeli lima kopi Office Home & Student 2013 dengan harga 900 dolar AS (180 dolar AS x 5). Jika Anda hanya menggunakan Office untuk satu PC, lebih baik membeli suite Office tradisional, berbasis perangkat dan merupakan versi lisensi permanen Office seperti yang dirincikan pada tabel di atas. Seperti Office 365, versi Office tersebut juga memungkinkan Anda menyimpan dokumen di SkyDrive.

8. Bagaimana jika saya hanya membutuhkan aplikasi tertentu Office 2013?

Menariknya, melalui Office.com, Anda dapat membeli aplikasi individual Office 2013. Misalnya Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Publisher dan Access dengan harga berkisar mulai Rp. 639.999 hingga Rp. 1.299.999. Kecuali jika Anda benar-benar membutuhkan Outlook, Publisher atau Access , yang tersedia dengan harga yang lebih tinggi, rasanya tak banyak orang yang mau membayar mahal hanya untuk mendapatkan satu aplikasi.

 

9. Apa itu Office Home & Student 2013 RT?

Ada versi Windows 8 untuk perangkat berbasis ARM yang disebut dengan Windows RT. Pada perangkat ini, Microsoft akan membenamkan versi Office yang disebut Office Home & Student 2013 RT secara gratis. Office tersebut memiliki aplikasi Word 2013 RT, Excel 2013 RT, PowerPoint 2013 RT dan OneNote 2013 RT. Yang terpenting, Office tersebut dilengkapi dengan kompabilitas dokumen dan dari segi tampilan, aplikasi-aplikasinya mirip dengan yang dimiliki Office non-RT.
Namun untuk memenuhi persyaratan keamanan, daya tahan dan usia baterai perangkat Windows RT, beberapa fitur Office harus dihilangkan dari Windows RT. Misalnya, absennya macro, add-ins dan fitur yang memanfaatkan kontrol ActiveX, sejumlah fitur umum tertentu seperti memainkan format media lama di PowerPoint dan sejumlah fitur pengiriman email (Windows RT tidak mendukung Outlook atau aplikasi mail desktop lainnya). Anda juga tidak dapat membuat Data Model di Excel 2013 RT dan membuat tulisan di PowerPoint 2013 RT. Serta di OneNote 2013 RT, Anda tidak dapat mencari file audio/video yang terintegrasi, merekam catatan audio/video dan mengimpor dari scanner.
Perlu diketahui juga bahwa pada tahap awal perangkat Windows RT dipasarkan, perangkatnya telah diinstal dengan edisi preview Office Home & Student 2013 RT. Jika Anda memiliki edisi preview ini, maka akan di-update secara otomotisi melalui Windows Update. Anda juga dapat melakukan update secara manual dengan mengakses Windows Update melalui Control Panel.

10. Apakah ada aplikasi bergaya Office Modern untuk Windows 8/RT?

Sementara rangkaian aplikasi Office 2013 memiliki tampilan dan citarasa Modern, mereka masih merupakan aplikasi desktop dan digunakan di desktop. Namun ada dua aplikasi Windows Store bergaya Modern, yang disediakan Microsoft untuk Windows 8 dan Windows RT yaitu: OneNote dan Lync. Kedua aplikasi ini didesain ulang dengan kemampuan sentuh pada semua aspek dan tersedia gratis di Windows Store.

  13. Dapatkah saya mencoba Office sebelum membelinya?

Tapi jika Anda mau membeli Office sekarang, akan lebih murah jika secara online.

 

15. Apakah Microsoft juga mengumumkan Office 2015?
